Nowadays people when they do their purchasing they don`t select a product, but much rather `a way of living`. Wherever today’s consumers choose to get organic products, they should be able to have confidence that these comply with strict EU rules.

Organic farmers, processors and traders, must comply with strict EU requirements if they want to use the EU organic logo or label their products as organic.

The EU requires an equally strict control system with checks carried out at every stage of the organic chain. Every operator (farmer, processor, trader, importer or exporter) is checked at least once a year by the EU approved control bodies.

6 REASONS TO BUY EU ORGANIC FOOD:

  • Strict control system of every operator of the organic food supply chain.
  • The EU organic logo and labelling is a quick and simple way for consumers to recognise organic products.
  • Organic farmers create good quality products through crop rotation and other natural cultivating methods.
  • Organic farming means that the time and distance from the farm to your kitchen is greatly reduced.
  • Animal welfare, natural grazing, attention to traditional and rare breeds are the characteristics of organic farming.
  • Organic producers are the keepers of European biodiversity, environmental protection in the respect of natural life cycles.

Apart from the EU, there are other Countries that have developed organic labelling schemes. You can find more information on IFOAM (The International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements) website: Ifoam.bio
